After sitting on the board for Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor throughout 2019, Scott is getting more actively involved in the accreditation. "I feel that the barriers to entry in the Mortgage Broker channel are low and that we, as an industry, need more programs to help train new agents and support the continuing education of existing agents/brokers. Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor (LHMA) is a 12 week online program with weekly power calls which compliment the program by addressing any questions that arise and help implement the course material.
LHMA is approved by Mortgage Professional Canada for 4 CE Credits and we are working hard to with synergetic businesses to elevate the brand and increase the value of the brand for agents/brokers that care to use the accreditation. Once the course is complete, the students can use the logo for marketing purposes and will be a part of the LHMA directory.
There is a lot of work to get this accreditation to where it needs to be to make a meaningful impact on our industry but this is a great start and I feel I have the time and experience to help push the accreditation to the next level. The material is on point, the weekly calls are getting terrific feedback and the fact its approved by Mortgage Professional Canada confirms the program is headed in the right direction.

Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor Appoints Scott Westlake To Board of Directors

Toronto, Ontario –Luxury Home Mortgage Group Ltd. announced that top producing DLC mortgage agent, Scott Westlake, has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors, effective today. The Luxury Home Mortgage Group provides education and training programs to mortgage professionals who want to specialize in working with high-net-worth-clients and luxury homeowners.
Scott has been in the mortgage industry for over 10 years and is responsible for personally originating hundreds of millions in mortgages and being responsible through his teams and training well into the billions in mortgage loans. He specializes in working with luxury homeowners and recently moved his office from Toronto to better serve the needs of affluent clients based in prestigious South East Oakville. Scott has been in the “Top 35 Under 35,” made the “Who’s Hot” list, Won the most prestigious award at the bank he worked at prior to becoming a mortgage broker, was nominated as Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2019, as well as been active on ILMB podcasts, Next Level Loan Officer, while also hiring and mentoring over 50 new agents.
Scott has opened a commercial and private lending arm, invested in financing solutions for construction financing, and created an identity for himself as a “problem solver” when it comes to complex mortgage solutions for high-net-worth clients. Additionally, he has financed multiple loans for players in the NHL, MLB, MLS, and CFL, as well as worked with artists, entertainers, and top-tier C-level executives.
After researching the market and other available training programs, Scott concluded there are limited options, with many not delivering value for the cost involved. He feels that investing his time in this accreditation is a way to give back to our industry:

Even though the focus is luxury based, I believe the educational component and curriculum will aid any mortgage professional, luxury based or not, with their mortgage career and help them enter the world of larger, more complex mortgages.”
The Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor course is a combination of online training, weekly homework assignments, and 12-weeks of live “power calls” hosted by Scott Westlake.
After completing the 12-week training program, students are required to pass a multiple-choice exam. Graduates are authorized to use Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor logos on all of their marketing materials. In addition, graduates will be added to the Luxury Home Mortgage Advisor Directory, a database that luxury real estate agents will increasingly rely upon to find mortgage professionals that can handle complex mortgage financing.
The course has been pre-approved by Mortgage Professionals Canada for 4 CE Units in the
Professional Development category for the year 2019. The first 12-week program begins on October 29th, 2019.
