This year, over 80% of the financing I’ve originated has been in the commercial markets — everything from multifamily and development projects to construction, bridge loans, and CMHC MLI Select programs.

While my team continues to support residential clients, my personal focus has shifted:

  • ✅ Commercial Lending → Multifamily · Development · Construction · Bridge · Private Capital

  • ✅ Residential (selective) → High net worth, jumbo loans, private lending, and complex problem-solving

Why the shift? Because I see a real gap:

  • Few brokers truly understand commercial financing.

  • Commercial bankers can be excellent, but they’re tied to one institution.

  • Clients and referral partners often need a broader view and multiple lender solutions.

With 15+ years of experience, billions in funded mortgages, and a team of seasoned ex-bank underwriters, we’re positioned to deliver those solutions — for clients, investors, and referral partners alike.

From Residential Roots to Commercial Growth


I want to share a quick but important update about where my business is heading.

 

Over the past year, 80% of my funding volume has been in the commercial markets — everything from multifamily and development projects, to construction financing, bridge loans, and CMHC MLI Select programs. After more than 15 years in the industry and billions in mortgage originations, it became clear to me: this is where I can create the most impact for my clients and referral partners.

 

That doesn’t mean I’m leaving residential behind. In fact, I will continue to personally service all of my existing residential clients and referral sources — and I still very much want that business. The difference is in where I spend my time originating:

 

  • Residential → I will be hands-on for larger, more complex transactions such as jumbo loans, private lending, and creative problem-solving along with existing residential mortgage clients.
  • Commercial → My main focus will be on large-scale financing where I can leverage my experience, relationships, and underwriting team to deliver solutions many brokers and banks cannot.

Here’s why I’m leaning in to commercial lending:

 

  • There are very few strong commercial brokers in the market. Most don’t fully understand the space, many are near or already retired and many clients are left without the right advice.
  • Commercial bankers can be excellent, but they work for one institution — which limits options. We bring an array of lenders and capital partners to the table.
  • I’ve brought in a team of experienced ex-bank underwriters to support our clients and referral sources. Together, we’re raising the bar on execution, creativity, and service.
  • Beyond financing, we also have the capacity to take in investment dollars and allocate them into multifamily and commercial real estate loans — offering opportunities for investors and developers alike.

 

For my referral partners: we’re building systems to help you identify commercial opportunities within your own network. If you send them our way, it creates a new revenue stream for you while giving your clients access to solutions they might not even know exist.
